Penis, mouth, nose cut off: Man mutilates his own father

Mykolaiv - In the Mykolaiv region in southern Ukraine, a son (36) mutilated his own father.

According to information from the local police on Friday, the bloody crime took place on Wednesday. The 36-year-old is said to have attacked his biological father (55) and then cut off his nose, mouth and penis.

Severely injured, the 55-year-old was able to reach his sister, who alerted the emergency services. He was taken to hospital and was said to be in a critical condition.

When a special unit tried to arrest the attacker on Thursday and stormed his house, there was a shootout at the scene.

Three officers were injured by the 36-year-old before he was finally overpowered. The man was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time.

Investigators later found weapons, ammunition and explosives in the house. They also found a night vision device, a knife and a balaclava.

Everything was confiscated to check and determine the origin of the items.

The son is now facing charges of grievous bodily harm and assaulting law enforcement officers. He is facing life imprisonment. He has not yet made a statement about the motive for his violent attack on his father.
