Baby cat meets Doberman after rescue: his reaction baffles so many

Palm Springs (USA) - It' s not just us humans who should not judge a living being by its external characteristics. This is proven by a touching story from the USA, when a large guard dog meets a kitten for the first time. His reaction is likely to surprise most people.

Doberman "Diesel" from Palm Springs welcomed a new roommate a few days ago. The rescued kitten "Lucy" was saved from the sweltering heat on the streets of California by her owner Hanny Thomas.

And although others might be afraid to bring such a fearsome guard dog together with a tiny baby kitten, Hanny knew she could rely on her dog.

The US-American filmed the first meeting of the two animals:

After Lucy arrived at the house, four-legged friend Diesel immediatelyshowed huge interest in the velvet paw and seemed to want to make friends with her.

While the kitten climbs around on the cat scratching post, Doberman Diesel keeps trying to make contact with the new housemate in a very gentle way.

Lucy, who has to settle into her new home first anyway, still seems to be a bit scared of the dog and doesn't respond to the four-legged friend's offers to play. And Diesel? He puffs out his cheeks in disappointment in the clip.

But the black and brown dog doesn't give up and tries to approach the kitten again. For this action, Diesel unceremoniously catches an animal whip. But even that doesn't stop him from staying with the cat - until she is ready for a round of play.

"Lucy was alone and abandoned when my niece and nephew found her," explains owner Hanny on her Instagram page. "She was very, very small. I'm so glad she doesn't have to live outside in this brutal heat. I love that we have playdates with all the fur babies now."

Diesel would be the perfect cat sitter in her opinion as he is a "gentle giant".
