Family hears noises from guest room: What they then discover is hard to believe
Mullica Hill (New Jersey) - A family from New Jersey got a big surprise this month. Because strange noises were coming from their guest room, they took a careful look. When they looked at the bed, the Americans couldn't believe their eyes.
This sight was a real surprise: six kittens and their mother were making themselves comfortable in the guest room. From the look of the bed, the mother cat had just given birth to the kittens.
The family couldn't explain exactly how the cat had got into the room. But they knew very quickly that the animals could not stay there.
"They contacted a local animal rescue who in turn contacted us to ask if we could take the family in," said Shauna, the founder of Cheshire Cat Rescue, in an interview with Love Meow this week.
Shauna and her team immediately set off to pick up the cats. After catching them all, they went straight to the shelter.
Cheshire Cat Rescue is also sharing the story on Facebook
There, the mother cat, who was now called Dream Cloud, turned out to be less than cooperative. She seemed suspicious, hissed and growled at the caretakers.
"I had the feeling she just wanted to protect her new babies ," says Shauna. Fortunately, the velvet paw was in the best of hands at Cheshire Cat Rescue. The team gave the mother and her babies the time and space they needed to get used to everything.
"She is super attentive. As soon as one of her little girls cries, she runs to lie next to them. She also watches closely when I touch her and looks very worried," explained Shauna.
Dream Cloud, who previously lived as a stray, is now looking forward to a bright future. She and her kittens are to be placed with loving owners as soon as possible.
Life on the streets should then be over for good.
