Woman eats in restaurant, a short time later she is dead
Schwandorf - Police in the Upper Palatinate are investigating whether the death of a woman could be linked to a visit to a restaurant.
So far there is no evidence that there is a connection between the food in the trattoria and the death, said a spokesman for the Upper Palatinate police headquarters.
However, this is currently being investigated. The results of the investigation into the case are expected later this week.
As reported by Bayerischer Rundfunk , several guests complained of vomiting and nausea after eating tortellini. The 46-year-old woman had also complained of symptoms of illness after eating in the restaurant and died a few days later.
The public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation, announced senior public prosecutor Carsten Reichel. However, the investigation is only at the beginning.
It is not yet possible to say what was responsible for the guests' health complaints.

Lawyer Philipp Pruy, who is representing the restaurant operator, said: "At the moment, it is not even remotely clear whether the restaurant operator can be blamed." The restaurant's goods are sourced from a wholesaler.
According to the police, deaths as a result of food poisoning are very rare, but the suspicion must still be investigated.
