Memphis - After a mother picked up her son from school, the boy had to fear for his life . Miriam Castillo (44) from the US state of Tennessee is now facing charges of serious child abuse and domestic violence.
Law and Crime has a sworn statement from a witness who saw the woman attack the child.
The victim, whose age was not disclosed, said that his mother had been "driving recklessly" on the way home from school.
The defendant's son described how the mother had tried to "push him out of the moving car" while they were both on their way to collect his sister.
In his distress, the boy called his father, who advised him to take the car keys as soon as the car stopped.
Although the boy followed his father's advice, he was attacked by his mother.
