Trouble again! Ex-Bundesliga star thrown out of the squad
Paris (France) - Five wins from six league games, with 20 goals scored and no defeats: French top-flight club Paris Saint-Germain have made a great start to the new soccerseasonand are unbeaten in first place in Ligue 1. So far, so good, you might think - if it weren't for Ousmane Dembélé (27).
The 27-year-old is not in the squad for the upcoming Champions League match at FC Arsenal on Tuesday.
The 47-time France international's name does not appear on the squad list published on Monday afternoon.
The exact reasons for his absence are still completely unclear, as he only played from the start in Ligue 1 last Friday and delivered a solid performance in the 3-1 home win against Stade Rennes.
According to media reports, the decision was made to travel to London without the 27-year-old for disciplinary reasons - apparently the result of a heated discussion with PSG head coach Luis Enrique (54).
Dropped from PSG squad! Ousmane Dembélé missing from Arsenal FC
However, this has not been officially confirmed. The club itself has remained silent - and the coach has not commented on the case either.
Although Dembélé has made a more than decent start to the still young season with four goals, he has repeatedly allowed himself the odd misstep in the past - and not just with his current employer.
The Frenchman had already made negative appearances in the past with indiscipline - including at Dortmund in 2017.
Back then, Dembélé went on strike from BVB after just one season. He also frequently made negative headlines at Catalans, where he was under contract between 2017 and 2023.
