Mother tries to suffocate daughter (6) with pillow: When rescuers arrive, she tells an unbelievable story
Palma (Spain) - An unbelievable act on the vacation island of Mallorca: a mother in Palma tried to suffocate her six-year-old daughter with a pillow.
According to a report in the Mallorca newspaper at the weekend, the events took place on October 8th in the capital of the popular Balearic island.
On that day, the girl was admitted to the Son Espases hospital due to an alleged epileptic seizure, where she was treated and later discharged.
It was only a few days later that the six-year-old confided in her nanny and told her what had really happened. According to her, she had not had cramps, as her mother had initially claimed at the hospital.
She had pressed a pillow over her face, which is why the child was unable to breathe for a few seconds. After the woman finally let go of her daughter, she is said to have called the emergency services and told them the story of the seizure.
Mother loses custody of her daughter after horrific act
The girl's nanny reacted immediately and went to the national police. They finally arrested the suspect last Thursday. The charge: attempted murder!
During a custody examination, the woman exercised her right to remain silent, it was further reported. Instead, her lawyer intervened and presented documents to prove that the accused was suffering from a mental disorder.
This apparently almost became the little girl's undoing.
Although the judge released the woman from custody, he prohibited her from having any contact with her child and revoked her custody rights. It is not known where the six-year-old is now being kept.
Meanwhile, the police investigation continues. It is also unclear whether the mother will now face any punishment at all.
