Pitbull Ruby has a thing for letter carriers! The sweet reason inspires so many

USA - Ruby the dog loves letter carriers! But not because the pit bull lady likes to bite letter carriers in the butt. Ruby is after something else.

Ruby looks a bit scary at first glance, but at second glance the pit bull is harmless and only focused on treats.

It all started when the four-legged friend encountered a UPS courier for the first time in his life. "He asked if he could give her a cookie," Ruby's owner Michelle Martinson told Newsweek.

For the dog, who was still totally nervous and anxious in the spring of this year, accepting treats from strangers was still an absolute no-go at the time.

In September, six months after her first encounter with the letter carrier, the tide turned! Ruby and the courier had been seeing each other regularly up to that point, but had left each other alone. One day, however, the four-legged friend plucked up all her courage and ran towards the UPS driver.

The pit bull was given a cookie - how could it be otherwise? Ruby has been in love with big, brown trucks ever since. The dog now firmly believes that there is a small snack waiting for her in every UPS truck.

Pit bull Ruby went viral with her behavior on the internet

A typical scene: Ruby waits at the side of the road until a courier driver gets out of his truck and places a treat in front of her paws.

"As soon as we are near the truck and especially when she sees or hears the driver, she stays put and waits patiently," says her owner Michelle.

A video she posted on TikTok shows Ruby in just such a situation. Instead of a cookie, however, this time the courier had brought a slice of bacon for the dog. Around one million people have watched the clip so far. The pit bull is now also a star on the Internet!

For Michelle Martinson, her four-legged friend's new passion is both a blessing and a curse. When Ruby is happy, so is she. But not losing sight of her pit bull can sometimes be quite exhausting.

Incidentally, the US American sent a message to UPS, telling the company with a wink that its drivers were to blame for the dog's behavior.
