Scandal in class: First grader (6) beats up teacher!
Carinthia (Austria) - Dramatic incident in the southern Austrian province of Carinthia! A six-year-old boy beat his teacher violently with his fists. A classmate is also said to have felt the anger of the primary school pupil.
The outbreak of violence took place last week in the first grade of a Carinthian elementary school, as elementary school are called in Austria, the Kronen-Zeitung reported on Tuesday.
The incident is said to have had "painful consequences" for the teacher involved. The six-year-old had punched the woman several times in the face.
She was apparently so badly injured by the child's attack that she had still not returned to lessons at the elementary school yesterday, Monday.
"The pupil is said to have attacked the teacher for no reason and used massive violence against her," said Carinthia's Director of Education, Isabella Penz, describing the situation.
But that wasn't all: "Then the boy also attacked a fellow pupil."
After attack on teacher and classmate: Six-year-old suspended from Carinthia
Fortunately, she was not quite as badly hit as her teacher. After the police were alerted and arrived at the school, she was picked up by her mother.
However, the violent outburst has consequences for the first-grader: "The six-year-old, who has a difficult family background, has been suspended for the time being until after the end of the fall break. Then we will see what happens next," said Penz.
A so-called helpers' conference was also convened because of the incident. "There are clear rules and procedures in such cases, which unfortunately happen time and time again," concluded the Director of Education.
It was only in May that there was an escalation in an elementary school in Carinthia in which a teacher pushed her pupil off a chair. Even though she was defended by pupils and parents, as the boy was considered a difficult case, she was suspended.
