Crushed by sliding door: 16-year-old dies in burglary attempt
Vevey (Switzerland) - On Sunday, flowers and candles lay in front of the entrance to the "Sandwicherie" in Vevey, Switzerland. A few hours earlier, a 16-year-old died there while trying to break into the store.

According to 24 Heures, the tragic accident took place on Saturday night. At around 4 a.m., local residents saw the motionless boy on the sidewalk and alerted the police.
The emergency services did everything they could to bring the teenager back to life, but all their efforts were in vain. The 16-year-old died at the scene of the accident.
According to initial reports from the police, the teenager had tried to break into the sandwich store by squeezing through the closed and locked sliding door. He managed to squeeze part of his upper body through the slowly opening gap before the door suddenly closed, trapping his neck and throat.
Investigators are currently determining whether he ultimately died as a result.
That same night, the store owner was called by the police to the scene of the gruesome accident. In an interview with the newspaper, he did not want to comment further on the incident. However, he did say that his store was repeatedly broken into.
The 16-year-old was the sixth person in the last two years to try to break into his "sandwich shop". Only this time, the attempted break-in had fatal consequences.
