Fearful dog simply abandoned: The place for it leaves you speechless

California (USA) - Last week, animal rights activist Suzette Hall received a message that tore her heart out. A security guard had observed a person tying her dog to a fence - and then simply disappearing.

And as if this action wasn't bad enough, this place was only a few meters from the entrance to an animal shelter.

Hall just shook his head sadly.

"I've rescued so many dogs on this very street because people don't want to pay to take them to the shelter and just abandon them instead," she explained in a post on her Facebook account, to which she added a few pictures and videos of the lonely furry friend.

Fortunately, some passers-by took it upon themselves to help the four-legged friend by bringing her some food and water. And that was necessary - the dog had previously been helplessly chewing on stones and old bones.

"She was so hungry, scared and alone," Hall recalled with a heavy heart. So it's no wonder that she immediately took heart and did everything she could to help this soul.

"She was terrified and it took a really long time for her to let me help her," Hall continued. "But after a while she realized that I meant her no harm. I just can't imagine what she's been through."

As soon as Hall had got hold of her and put her in her van, she took her protégé to the vet, where the dog was nursed back to health.

Hall then set off in search of a foster family - in the hope that she could be lovingly cared for there until a forever basket could be found for her where she would never have to be afraid again.
