Shock find at the airport! Passenger with dangerous arsenal in her hand luggage
Los Angeles (USA) - A woman was checked at Los Angeles airport. During her search, so many illegal items were found that even the experienced officials of the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) were shocked.
The curious discovery was made by TSA officials at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on December 15, according to a statement from the authority.
At around 10 p.m. (local time), the passenger's suitcase was marked for inspection because the X-ray image already revealed a potential danger.
When the luggage was opened, the officers were presented with a frightening picture.
The woman was carrying a wide variety of prohibited items, and not too few of them.
Dozens of prohibited items were found in the hand luggage
A whopping 82 fireworks, three knives, two replica firearms and a pepper spray were found in the bag.
"The sheer volume of prohibited items found in a single carry-on bag is extremely concerning," said Jason Pantages, Federal Director of TSA Security at LAX.
Knives and replica weapons would not even be a problem in checked baggage, but they would be in carry-on baggage.
The situation is completely different with fireworks: They are considered a type of explosive and are therefore not allowed in any baggage. Even a bomb squad had to arrive to dispose of the small firecrackers.
