Tragedy at baby shower: Girl is attacked by pit bull and dies

Baytown (Texas, USA) - A six-month-old baby dies after being attacked by a dog . The pit bull is now to be euthanized.

A terrible incident shook a small town in the US state of Texas on April 1.

A young mother had been celebrating her daughter's six-month birthday that day when the accident occurred, according to the portal KPRCR.

The family lived in an apartment with two pit bulls when one of the dogs suddenly became aggressive and attacked the little girl. Meanwhile, the other pit bull was locked in a kennel.

A neighbor described how the mother rang her doorbell: "There was blood everywhere. She knocked on my door with the baby in her arms. The mother was completely distraught."

Although the girl was taken to a nearby hospital, the doctors could do nothing more for her. She succumbed to her injuries.

After the tragedy, animal control took both pit bulls into custody. According to KPRC, the family agreed to allow the dog that had attacked the child to be euthanized.
